Smart HPAC

AMPHENOL

Hall 6 - E56
France
The smart HPAC is a power connector incorporating active electronics that enables real-time analysis, according to user-defined configurations, of data from sensors (temperature and current) integrated into the connector. We use the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) protocol to transmit data, thus limiting energy consumption and enabling information to be visualized in a dedicated, portable application.

Innovation character

The integration of a compact measurement and analysis system in our power connector is a breakthrough in the field of power connectors. Ultimately, we believe this integrated system will enable us to increase the safety factor through pre- and post-use data inspection, improve preventive maintenance management and, in emergencies, trigger real-time warning signals.

Potential for evolution

Today, our proof of concept demonstrates the possibility of monitoring data from temperature and current sensors. However, the market is showing interest in integrating other types of active and passive solutions: voltage, authorization of use, counting the number of connections, etc.

Energetic transition

Yes, our equipment was originally designed to meet the need for electrification of vehicle equipment.
